Gender Based Violence (GBV)
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a profound violation of human rights and a significant barrier to gender equality. Sheroes Gender-Based Violence program is committed to preventing GBV, protecting survivors, and advocating for justice, creating a society where women and girls can live free from fear and violence.
About
Our GBV program addresses the multifaceted aspects of gender-based violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, and harmful traditional practices. We provide support services for survivors, including counseling, legal aid referrals, and safe shelter. We also conduct extensive community awareness campaigns to challenge harmful norms, educate the public on GBV prevention, and promote bystander intervention. Our advocacy efforts focus on strengthening legal frameworks and ensuring accountability for perpetrators.
Our Impacts
The GBV program has provided a lifeline to hundreds of survivors, offering critical support and pathways to recovery. Our awareness campaigns have led to increased reporting of GBV incidents and a greater understanding within communities about the devastating impact of violence. We’ve successfully advocated for improved police response mechanisms and greater access to justice for survivors, contributing to a safer environment for women and girls.
