The deaths of these five female council officials within such a short period have cast a shadow over Lagos politics and left their communities in mourning.

Each of these women had only just begun their journey of service, making their loss even more profound.

While the circumstances surrounding their deaths may differ, what remains clear is the need to honor their contributions and preserve their legacies.

And even though their passing is a sobering reminder of the value of women’s voices in governance and the importance of continually encouraging and supporting more women to step into leadership roles; it also leaves a growing concern about the safety, health, and welfare of women in politics especially elected leaders.
