Sheroes Climate Action
As in every other space, women’s voices, opinions and impacts are missing in climate action conversations. It is necessary to intergrade women’s participation in achieving climate change solutions.
About
Our Climate Change Awareness program addresses the critical gap in environmental discourse where women’s voices, opinions, and lived experiences are often missing. We focus on integrating gender-specific perspectives into the climate conversation, ensuring that women are not just seen as victims of environmental shifts but as essential leaders in developing solutions. Through targeted education and advocacy, we highlight how climate change disproportionately affects women and why their participation is a mechanical necessity for achieving sustainable global goals.
Our Impacts
Our awareness initiatives have empowered women across diverse communities to take their place at the forefront of climate advocacy, leading to more inclusive local policies and a greater public understanding of gender-responsive environmental action. By amplifying the missing voices in this space, we have fostered a more comprehensive approach to resource conservation and disaster preparedness, ensuring that climate solutions are both equitable and effective.
Our Goals
- Take climate action (SDG 13) by strengthening resilience to climate-related hazards, integrating climate measures into policies, and improving education and awareness on mitigation and adaptation.
- Our primary objective is to institutionalize women’s participation in climate action by bridging the knowledge gap and advocating for policies that prioritize gender-inclusive environmental strategies.
- Ensure access to affordable and clean energy (SDG 7) by increasing the share of renewable energy and improving energy efficiency.
- Promote good health and well-being (SDG 3) by reducing deaths and illnesses from pollution and strengthening prevention and treatment of substance abuse.
