Every society preaches and encourages a mindset of generosity, reciprocity, and collaboration. The same should be advocated to advance gender equality because women’s rights are human rights.
Because what you give through resources, time, knowledge, mentoring, advocacy, education, visibility, funding, opportunities, or support to either or both individuals, organizations create ripple effects that bring mutual benefits, empowering women and girls, which, therefore, automatically leads to broader societal progress, where everyone rises together.
The annual International Women’s Day is not just marked as a major day for giving and collective action to forge a more equal world free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. It is also to celebrate women’s achievements in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres, irrespective of the persistent challenges of inequality, discrimination, and barriers that they continue to face.

It is intended to inspire tangible actions to accelerate gender equality, recognizing that individual and shared contributions ultimately multiply impact that benefits families, economies, and societies as women thrive.’

And for 2026, just as the theme implies, the best way to show care for any woman or girlchild is by providing them with the support they need to thrive.
If you care for her, support her, give her a seat where it matters, give her the microphone to speak, give her the right audience, sit back and watch the magic happen.
This day serves as a reminder of the urgency to dismantle barriers to justice and strains on legal systems, and enforce the rights of women in building accountable justice systems.
Today is a day that reminds us every woman is worth celebrating, irrespective of her position, status, or achievements.
The strength, resilience, courage, and dreams that women carry are the breath of life the world needs right now. Despite centuries-old oppression, the impact of women on every point and aspect of life is evidently seen.
From the women raising families and changing diapers daily to those out of the homefront building careers, they are all irreplaceable. Their presence, values, and contributions are much needed where they are.
