Sheroes Rising Webinar Series III on Climate Action

As in every other space, women’s voices, opinions and impacts are missing in climate action conversations.

The inclusion of women in climate action is necessary because the climate crisis is not gender-neutral. It intersects deeply with existing inequalities; ignoring gender dynamics makes climate efforts less effective, less just, and ultimately less successful.

 Women’s full inclusion in decision-making, policy design, implementation, and leadership is essential in solving the climate crisis and combating climate change because they are its first victims.

On 28th March 2026, Sheroes Rising for Development Initiaitve is bringing 3 women leaders to the table for its IWD Webinar Series to discuss on the importance of women in climate action because women’s inclusion isn’t optional or “extra” — it’s a practical necessity for faster, fairer, and more effective climate progress.

The Webinar Series titlted  ‘overlapping disparities: How women’s exclusion deeepns social & global climate crisis has on the panel:

  • Dr. Asmau Benzies Leo is a renowned gender, peacebuilding, and social development specialist & Executive Director of the Centre for Nonviolence and Gender Advocacy in Nigeria (CENGAIN),
  • Ibukun Omololu Gender Expert and Principal Consultant of The Teal Tree Company.
  • Lumbie Mlambo is a Zimbabwean-born Impact Entrepreneur from Generation X, champions clean water access and empowerment for underserved women and girls and founder of JB Dondolo, a social enterprise that leverages science and technology to improve health and economic opportunities in Africa.
